Refund and Cancellation

I didn't receive an email for renewed auto-pay after declaring in person that I did not want auto-renewal. I was charged an additional fee for a member or buddy (I don't know what term they use for a friend attached to the account) when my card was declined.

They had previously canceled their membership, so I don't know why their payment details were still on file.

I had lost the debit card that I had on file, never received an email about them charging that card and it getting denied, and they charged another card without any notification. I want to cancel my membership (I have already done so online) and I want a refund.

24 Hour Fitness - Complaint

I got a 3-day pass. I was happy because I have severe leg pain and my doctor told me swimming is a remedy.

However, everything in the email was a lie. As soon as I went in with my ID, they didn't let me experience the gym because of an old address I have on my ID. False advertisement. I was probably going to buy a membership too.

I'm so disappointed. It's a terrible place.

U don’t like when I can’t talk to a human being at the corporate customer service phone number, I dropped a buddy pass the last December, I got my son a membership instead, they kept charging me.

I purchased my son his own membership last December and dropped his buddy pass and come to find out two weeks ago it was still on my acct. I also wanted to get my monthly lowered before it was to expire and the manager is always in a meeting or I just missed him and I want to talk to someone higher up than the kids standing around laughing and talking to each other. Why cant I get a human being to talk to at the customer service phone number?

24 Hour Fitness - Theft On Premises

Some MF actually cut the *** lock off my locker and stole *** They have biometrics and photo-ids to enable entry into the facility so the MF thief had to be a member. I tried to get the idiots at 24 Hour Fitness to let me see the video of all people entering or exiting the locker room for a 2-hour window.

The MFs said no. They wouldn't let me see the videos.

Unfortunately, there is a very strong set of circumstantial evidence pointing to one of the usual suspooks as the perp.

A very stupid MF as well because we know it is a member, we know what it looks like, and we know the approximate times it attends the gym. We also must revert to the standard policy of retribution upon any similar potential criminal.

The MFs at 24 Suckhole, the property owners at 24 Suckhole, and a randomly selected segment of the population that resembles the perp are going to have to pay a very large monetary fine for this BS.

What happened was that every time the manager told me to call before it reactivated itself, I did, and they did not pause it again. Then, she told me to call and just leave a voicemail message if I couldn't get a hold of anybody, and let them know that I want to pause indefinitely until my doctor clears me to return to the gym so I wouldn't lose my membership.

I feel cheated as I only checked in a couple of times when I went back in May. This month, however, they said it was already unpaused and that I have to pay in July for a new membership. This is ridiculous because I'm on a fixed income and I'm disabled, and now they want a whole year membership paid by me again. The people at the front desk gave me a phone number and said it was the corporate office and it goes to HughesNet internet, not even their number, I'm very upset.

I need somebody to get a hold of me, or I'm going to contact the Better Business Bureau and report this. I only checked in twice, and then went back in May, and now they're trying to tell me I have to pay for the whole year again.

User's recommendation: Do not trust 24 hour fitness when they say they’re pausing your membership indefinitely until you’re able to come back to the gym. You will get cheated out of the almost $400 you pay for a year there.

I have been a member since 2006 for a yearly rate of $29 it was acquired because my family and I paid a lump sum amount in order to keep that contract. Suddenly they want to raise mine just because I did NOT join on suing them back in 2018?

You actually get punished for not doing that? This is crazy. We want to come back 2018 that is 6 years ago. Whats the proof that the intended recipient actually got that mail?

There was no email, no reminder, no phone calls regarding this.

Nobody is helping resolve the issue, nobody is listening. Just driving people out by doing this.

They refuse to turn the AC up so we dont faint in the Navajo club. The hotter it gets, they turned it from 71 to now 75.

Absolutely not safe! Too many people in there and some of us, including me, has almost passed out.

I about slammed my head on a machine due to the heat. This is unacceptable!

NEGATIVE SERVICE

I'm writing, unfortunately, on my 2nd day reactivating my gym membership to complain about an employee who had a significant attitude at 5 am. Sunday, I reactivated my membership after relocating to SC.

The team was super attentive and friendly. When I asked if they had a jump rope, they looked everywhere until they found it. And I noticed where they put away after I returning. But today when I went to the gym and asked for it, the person didn't even look up, told me it wasn't there but on the gym floor.

I politely asked if she minded looking in the drawer, pointing where I saw it. She responded, "I am telling you it's not here. Feel free to come and take a look if you dont belive me." So, I went around, opened the drawer, and got the rope, showing her it was there. She dared to argue with me, seriously, what the *** She had one job!

But okay. When I left, I cut her some slack, thinking maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I said thank you as I returned the item, but this person did not drop her attitude! I absolutely am not taking it that I pay a membership to 5 in the morning, get my workout, and have this kind of service.

I will write every day if it's the case until I do not have this nature of service. Please provide her with proper training.

It's not that hard, to be honest; I wish to go to the gym and not even see her there anymore. I doubt it will improve.

Customer service

I complained about how awful the evening cleaner is at cleaning. She stands around talking to her friends, walks past trash on the floor, doesn't clean the showers, etc.

She became angry and tried attacking me. Furthermore, she had to be restrained by three staff members. I'm disabled and use a walker, but she still attacked me.

The staff mocked me today and yesterday. They harass me and discriminate against me.

Corporate management is a joke.

They want you to email them instead of having customer service representatives available. I plan to sue them and report them to the ADA.

Discrimination/Disrespect

My name is Jatinder Singh. I am writing this to you regarding to a bad experience I had at the Newark 24 Hour Fitness Club.

I paid the annual membership fee which was about $263. I forgot to pay the annual fee. I went to the club and was getting help from an employee who's name I think was Ismail. He wasn't getting the question I was asking him so he asked another lady to help him.

That lady's name was Pam. I explained to her the situation. She wasn't even ready to listen to me. It was as if she didn't care.

She spoke to me in a really rude and arrogant way. The computer was facing me when Ismail was helping me, but she snatched the computer back to face her in a really angry and violent type of way. I didn't say anything to her other than politely saying to repect me. There were many people and employees who started to stare at us as she kept on bringing out her rude attitude.

She disrespected me in front of so many people. When I asked her to print me the papers, she yelled at me , " How many copies?" Then, when I asked her for a pen, she threw it at me. At last, she said for me to leave this place at once. Is this how some of your employees treat their customers?

I mean, in the sense of her being a human and me being one, too, it's just wrong. She should treat others with kindness and respect to get the same thing back. I am treating her with this but she just can't seem to be grateful for it. She should think about what if I treated her that way?

How would she feel if she were standing in my shoes? I don't think she would feel great. So, if she wouldn't feel great being in that position, how could I? I am a customer who has the right to be respected.

I am respecting her, so why isn't she respecting me? Was she doing this because I have a different religion than her? As you may know that in the United Sates, there is no discrimination based on religion, sex, race, nationality, or ethnicity. Everyone is equal here.

No one should be treated poorly based on these things or their position in society. I felt really disrespected as she was doing this to me. Can you please take immediate action on this incident? If she does this to me, who knows if she does it to so many others as well?

If you can't take action on this, I will go to court and file a case.

Hi, last year on February 15 2023 I decided to join 24 hour fitness that same day I spoke with the manager and I was under the impression that I was paying for a year worth of membership. The day of I was told to make a down payment of $109 as a part of the contract, the manager that assisted me had commented that I had two weeks of free individual training.

at the time I thought that was part of the contract so I didn't question it. Yesterday, February nine I called my local 24 hour fitness and was asking about a new contract regarding last year. I was under the impression that I was on a yearly contract but I came to find out that I was not. I was charged $109 for individual training that I never attended or was aware of, I was not handed an invoice the year that I signed up so I thought like I said it was courtesy of 24 hour fitness.

I spoke with my local and their response was that they quote" replaced my initiation fee with free individual training" which was something I never agreed upon, on top of that I am certain that last year on February the price was the same and just like this year there is no initiation fee other than a one dollar fee.

It took long for me to catch onto this but like I said I wasn't aware and I thought I was under a yearly contract. I would like to get a refund for those $109 i feel scammed.
